QA & QC

Nondestructive testing involves the inspection, testing or evaluation of materials, components and assemblies for materials’ discontinuities, properties and machine problems without further impairing or destroying the parts serviceability. Universally, the term NDT applies equally to the NDT inspection methods used for evaluation.

The American Society for NDT (ASNT) is the most famous and well know NDT Society, for nearly half a century, ASNT certification has been the standard for the nondestructive testing industry.

For employers, ASNT certification is an impartial validation of the competence of NDT personnel in the field.

Nexus Quality covers all related NDT Methods training and certifications programs, for both conventional and advanced techniques as visual testing (VT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), magnetic particle testing (MT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and radiographic testing (RT).

The training and certification programs are performed in accordance with The American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT): Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A and/or CP-189 standard, depending on clients’ requirements.

Programs:

  • NDT Level I: MT, PT, VT, RT, ET, UT, IR …
  • NDT Level II (Employer based) : MT, PT, VT, RT, ET, UT, IR …
  • NDT Level III (Employer based) : MT, PT, VT, RT, ET, UT, IR …
  • ASNT Level II (ASNT Certification): MT, PT, VT, RT, UT, IR, ET …
  • ASNT Level III (ASNT Certification): MT, PT, VT, RT, UT, IR, ET …
  • ACCP Level II (As per ISO Requirements): MT, PT, VT, RT, UT
  • ACCP Level III (As per ISO Requirements): MT, PT, VT, RT, UT

This International Standard specifies requirements for principles for the qualification and certification of personnel who perform industrial non-destructive testing (NDT).

The system specified in this International Standard can also apply to other NDT methods or to new techniques within an established NDT method, provided a comprehensive scheme of certification exists and the method or technique is covered by International, regional or national standards or the new NDT method or technique has been demonstrated to be effective to the satisfaction of the certification body.

The certification covers proficiency in one or more of the following methods: a) acoustic emission testing; b) eddy current testing; c) infrared thermographic testing; d) leak testing (hydraulic pressure tests excluded); e) magnetic testing; f) penetrant testing; g) radiographic testing; h) strain gauge testing; i) ultrasonic testing; j) visual testing (direct unaided visual tests and visual tests carried out during the application of another NDT method are excluded).

Programs:

  • ISO NDT Level I : MT, PT, VT, RT, ET, UT, IR …
  • ISO NDT Level II (Employer based) : MT, PT, VT, RT, ET, UT, IR …
  • ISO NDT Level III (Employer based) : MT, PT, VT, RT, ET, UT, IR …
  • Phased Array Training and Certification
  • Eddy Current Training and Certification
  • Vibration Training and Certification

One of the best ways to advance your welding career is by earning a specialized certification. This opens up opportunities for more money, leadership roles and higher-level career challenges.

AWS offers nine different certification categories, from inspectors, supervisors and educators to radiographic interpreters, welding engineers and fabricators.

Nexus Quality is a member of Quality Control Group, Quality Control is an agent who is contracted to provide certification examinations on behalf of the American Welding Society.

Programs:

  • Certified Welding Inspector : CWI
  • Certified Welding Engineer : CWEng
  • Senior Certified Welding Inspector: SCWI
  • Certified Radiographer : CR
  • Certified Welders : CW

SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings was founded in 1950 as the Steel Structures Painting Council, a non-profit professional society concerned with the use of coatings to protect industrial steel structures. In 1997, the name of the association was changed to SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings to better reflect the changing nature of coatings technology and the ever-expanding types of construction materials.

SSPC is the only non-profit association that is focused on the protection and preservation of concrete, steel and other industrial and marine structures and surfaces through the use of high-performance protective, marine and industrial coatings. SSPC is the leading source of information on surface preparation, coating selection, coating application, environmental regulations, and health and safety issues that affect the protective coatings industry.

Programs:

  • CPI Level I (Coating Inspection)
  • CPI Level II (Coating Inspection)
  • CPI Level III (Coating Inspection)
  • MIG
  • TIG
  • SMAW

ASME is the leading international developer of codes and standards associated with the art, science, and practice of mechanical engineering. Starting with the first issuance of its legendary Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code in 1914, ASME’s codes and standards have grown to nearly 600 offerings currently in print. These offerings cover a breadth of topics, including pressure technology, nuclear plants, elevators / escalators, construction, engineering design, standardization, and performance testing.

ASME standards are accepted for use in more than 100 countries around the world.

Businesses and regulators around the world rely on the ASME Certification Mark (The Mark). ASME certification is the clearest way to tell customers, supply chain, industry, and regulators that your company is committed to public safety and quality.

The Qualifications for Authorized Inspection QAI-1 – 2016 is a Standard provides requirements for the qualification and duties of individuals performing authorized inspections as required in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The Standard also establishes the requirements for an organization to be an accredited Authorized Inspection Agency or Qualified Inspection Organization.  The individuals performing authorized inspections under the employment of an accredited organization are Authorized Inspectors, Authorized Inspector Supervisors, Authorized Nuclear Inspectors, Authorized Nuclear Inspector Supervisors, Inspectors, and Supervisors.  The qualification and duties of a Certified Individual is also addressed.

ASME Inspector Programs:

  • ASME II
  • ASME V
  • ASME B31.1
  • ASME IX
API’s Individual Certification Programs (ICP) have provided the petroleum and petrochemical industries with an independent and unbiased way to evaluate the knowledge and experience of technical and inspection personnel. These certification programs are based on the industry-developed standards that are recognized and used with confidence worldwide. ICP testing, developed in partnership with industry leaders, confirms that certified inspectors and personnel will demonstrate competence in content areas that are relevant to their practices. API certified inspectors and personnel are recognized worldwide as professionals who are fully knowledgeable of the relevant industry inspection codes and standards, and who are capable of performing their jobs in accordance with the latest and most acceptable industry inspection practices. API certification allows qualified personnel to establish a career path and make valuable contributions to the safety and quality of industry operations. API Inspector Programs:
  • API 510 (Pressure Vessels)
  • API 653 (Pipping and pipelines)
  • API 570 (Storage Tanks)
